ACCOUNTABILITY



Accountability is the obligation to

  • demonstrate that work has been conducted in accordance with agreed rules and standards, and
  • report fairly and accurately on performance results vis-à-vis mandated roles and/or plans.


RASIT is committed to independent and objective internal oversight to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of its operations.



AUDIT



The Certified Accountant Officer conducts internal audits, related funding, services, and all relevant matters.



ETHICS



The RASIT Ethics Office is an independent, confidential, impartial, and professional resource for all RASIT personnel and fellows, everywhere. We promote an organizational culture that places the highest value on professionalism, integrity, accountability, transparency, results orientation, and mutual respect. Our mission is to assist RASIT personnel and fellows and other partners’ personnel to perform to the highest standards of integrity required by the Charter of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust.



EVALUATION



The Independent Evaluation Officers work to enhance development effectiveness by strengthening accountability and learning through evaluation and partnership.



TRANSPARENCY



RASIT has a long-standing commitment to transparency, with publishing bi-annual financial and program information.



POLICIES AND PROCEDURES



Operational standards and procedural guidance on RASIT’s core business processes are detailed in the Program and Operations Policies and Procedures Framework, which brings greater transparency to how RASIT operates.

RASIT is committed to ensuring that our programing and operations are socially and environmentally sustainable. RASIT recognizes that social and environmental sustainability are fundamental to the achievement of sustainable development outcomes, and therefore must be fully integrated into our Programs and Projects. To ensure this we have key policies, procedures, and accountability mechanisms in place to underpin our support to the communities or organizations we serve.
