Based on RASIT’s Founder President, HRH Prince Mohammad Bin King Faisal (I) El-Hashemite, collective data on gender and science education and employment, and social-, economic and political- issues concerning women advancement and empowerment worldwide The Women in Science International League was signed into being in 1998 as an independent international Program of RASIT.
The League is dedicated to promoting excellence in education and science and plays an influential role in regional and international higher education policy and supports developments Women in Science in a wide range of ways.
The League is a platform for knowledge, advocacy and accountability to improve and develop the status of women in science. It enables members to share strategies, align objectives and resources, and agree on interventions to achieve more together than they would have been able to achieve individually.
The League plays an important role in facilitating action on many fronts, mainly progress towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) particularly SDG 5, to ensure gender equality in science education, employment and other social-economic and political aspects. The League’s work is based on key priorities supporting all members to achieve better outcomes for women and girls in science across all disciplines and employment sectors.
Working for positive system transformation, the League strives to ensure that all women in STEAM fields can achieve their full potential.
