Seminars & Conferences:
the league organizes either independently or in collaboration with key national or
international organizations/institutions, seminars and conferences, which carry
crosscutting forefront scientific, medical, technological, educational, social,
economical themes.

Through such activities the league aims to enhance the public understanding on the
issues concerning women in science, and their contributions to societies in the fields
of science and medicine.

1998: “Women Rights in Science” identified and discussed the actual problems facing female
scientists and the actual need for female involvement in decision making

1999: "Women in Science". Held in collaboration with UNIC, UNFPA, World Bank, and UK
Medical Research Council.

2000: "Muslim Women in Science: Better Future".  The First International Conference to
discuss the rights of Muslim women, and Muslim Women in Science. Held under the patronage of
HM King Mohammed VI in collaboration with the Islamic Organization for Science Education and
Culture (ISESCO), in Morocco .  

2002: "Impact of Scientific Research on Improving Women’s Health". Held at the United
Nations Headquarter, New York City; in collaboration with the
LAM Foundation and UNFPA.  
Emphasized the importance of scientific research and non-profit making organizations efforts in
identifying disorders affecting women only, improving women’s life while finding a cure.

2003: “Private Sectors and female Science Education” discussed the actual rule of Private
sector and its contribution to encourage and promote Female Science higher educational.

2004: "Excellence of Women". Held at the UNESCO Palace Beirut and discussed the
Excellence of Women of our world whose impact has been outstanding, sometimes under unusual
or difficult circumstances, and demonstrated the abilities of women to be great leaders.

2006:" Arab Women in Science: a Path to Leadership". Discussed the real situation of Arab
women in Science living in Western Countries, and their role in improving the situation of women in
science in Arab States.

2007: "Iraqi Women in Science: Past Present and Future". Revealed the actual situation of Iraqi
women in general and Iraqi women professionals whether refugees or living in Iraq.

2007: "Women in Science and Society". Celebrating International Women's Day.  Emphasized
the role of women in building societies.

Fatima El-Fehria International Award:
Every two years the league honors and recognizes the achievements and
contributions of two women in the fields of science, technology, medicine, public
awareness, and humanitarian relief.

Read Women in Science Journal:
The official publication of the league, and is available for scientists, professionals,
artists, philosophers, journalists, and students to publish their articles.  The journal is
issued quarterly to outline the league’s activities, update information on achievements
of women in science, and to raise and identify cultural, social, ethical, legal, public,
and medical problems and concerns of women in science and proposed solutions to
improve the quality and standard of women in science lives.
