Parents Day
Children’s parents are mainly underprivileged from villages or
rural areas. So many of them are not well educated. Giving
the fact that their children has chronic diseases and has to be
hospitalized for a long time, one of the parents has to stay in
the hospital caring for the sick child leaving behind them the
other family members. Parents hardly have someone to talk to
them, support them, counsel them, or even answer their
questions regarding their child’s condition. Furthermore, they
have no facilities of entertainment other than watching their
children suffering, in pain, and in most times they believe that
their children are dying in front of them and cannot do anything
about it. In fact, the parents’ psychological condition is appalling
and indeed have a negative impact on the children.
The patient’s family is often equally dysfunctional. The family
frequently requires support as well.
