A very high honor that is awarded to a small number of people of our world whose impact has been outstanding, sometimes under
unusual or difficult circumstances, and who have demonstrated the abilities to be great leaders, leaving an indelible imprint on
today's societies and accomplishment for future generations to consider.

RASIT awards medals, lectures or prizes to professionals, for contributions made during their working lives, and early-career
persons, under the age of 40, in all fields of science education medicine arts and public work.  

In addition to honorific awards, Support for research is provided for conferences that focus on rapidly developing fields of study and
travelling fellowships are awarded for the exchange of ideas and experience.

RASIT also awards various organizations for distinguished contributions to science and technology education medicine and
humanitarian work.

Awards are offered according to the criteria announced by RASIT. Information on criteria and how to nominate candidates or apply
for support is available by contacting us.

The 2012 honorific awards for excellence in science medicine arts education and public work will open in February 2012.

The selection process is in two stages. Candidates are nominated on the forms provided and are short-listed by the selection
committees for further consideration. Nominators of short-listed candidates are contacted in early June and asked to provide further
documentation and referee reports for their candidate.

The recipients of honorific awards are announced in early September and presented in December.
